Tips for dealing with Nevada State Contractors

Always call The Nevada State Contractors Board to inquire about the companies' complaint history.

Always make sure the companies' license number and monetary limit is on all contracts and bids.
Be sure the amount of the bid or contract is within the monetary limit of the contractor.
Be sure that the contract is within the scope of work/license classification.
If it is not in your written contract, it does not exist. Make sure all change orders are in writing and signed by all parties.
Make sure that the contractor's license number is on all business advertisements, including vehicles, business cards, letterhead, signage directories, websites, etc.
Make sure the contractor is willing to supply a reference list. The people on the reference list should be willing to let you come to their home and look at the contractors work. |
